Tribute
On Sunday, May 20, 2018, Mr. Michael Timothy Windle of Osoyoos passed away peacefully in West Kelowna at the age of 89 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Marion in 1997, eldest daughter Susan in 2017, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Mike will be fondly remembered by his loving family including children: Maureen Burke, Mike Windle Jr (Sharon), Mark Windle (Josee), Tim Windle (Barbara), Kathy Marfleet (Bruce), Steve Windle (Cindy), Sheilagh Rowe (Rob) and Patrick Windle; brothers-in-law Bill Bertrand (Fennetta) and Paul Bertrand; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends.
Mike enjoyed a long career as a police officer with the Vancouver Police Department, serving from 1951 – 1981 and retired as a Sergeant. Mike and Marion raised their family in Burnaby and retired to Osoyoos in 1982.
Mike was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a past 4th Degree member and Grand Knight.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Osoyoos, BC. Followed by interment and committal at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception at the church lower hall hosted by the CWL will follow the interment.

Joyce and I were fortunate to know Mike during our time in Osoyoos particularly at the Osoyoos Hockey Games. Our son’s brother in law is Mark Windle ( a Grandson)and we know him through our son’s family. It was our pleasure to know Mike and share a laugh with him from time to time. Also to share our careers as Police Officers. Our thoughts and and prayers are with the family at this time. Unfortunately we are in Vancouver and unable to attend his service.
