Tribute
Nancy Cyr, of Osoyoos BC, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2012 at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 90 years.
Nancy Cyr is lovingly remembered by her daughter Liz (John) of Osoyoos, and by grand-daughters Breanne (Victor) of Woodbridge, ON, and Brandy (Jeff) of Dawson Creek, BC. She was predeceased by her husband Brud, her son Stephen, her parents Alex and Elizabeth Stephen, her sisters Isabel and Thelma, and her brothers Bob, Harry, Sandy, Charles, and Nelson.
Besides her role as a homemaker, Nancy worked as a cashier for Northern Commercial and waitressed at several restaurants. She enjoyed trips to Alaska and Vancouver, and revisiting her homestead in Saskatchewan.
Nancy was a long-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion (Branch #173) in Osoyoos, and frequently volunteered helping to care for the needy or ill. She enjoyed relaxing with her knitting, watching hockey and baseball, and creating photo albums. Walking and bowling were among her active pursuits, and she loved to socialize with friends and family.
Donations to BC Children’s Hospital Foundation (938 West 28th Avenue, Vancouver BC V5Z 4H4 or www.bcchf.ca/donate ) in Nancy’s memory would be gratefully appreciated.
A memorial service was held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday May 16 at Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel, with interment in Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.

If one didn’t know Nancy, she would talk with you like you were her neighbour of many years…. Nancy was the best story teller too; when she spoke you could visualize what she relaying. When ever I saw Nancy the first thing I would say to her how great she looked for her age. I always told her I hoped to look as good as she did when I got to be her at that age. Truly a remarkable woman!
