Tribute
Natalia De Melo of Osoyoos, passed with family at her side, at Mariposa Gardens care facility on December 17, 2018. Natalia was born in the village of Relva, Sao Miguel, Azores, Portugal. She moved to Canada in 1960 where she resided with her husband until moving to Osoyoos in 1967, the couple operated a local orchard together until 2004.
She was predeceased by her husband Evaristo De Melo. Natalia is survived by her son Leo (Natty) and grandchildren Tina and Jeff; one great grandchild Adeline; her son John and grandchildren Nancy, Curtis, Rebecca, Peter and their mother Karen; her brother Jose Alves (Liberta) of Kitimat; her sister Connie in Sao Miguel, Portugal; plus several nieces and nephews in Canada, USA and Portugal.
Natalia has been a long-time member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos. Prayers to be held at St Anne’s Catholic Church at 7:00 pm, Friday, December 21st. Funeral mass to be celebrated by Fr. Peter at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 22, followed by interment and committal at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
