Tribute

Patricia Anne Neilson (1955–2024)

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Patricia Neilson of Osoyoos, BC, who died peacefully on November 11, 2024, at the age of 69.  She was born on April 22, 1955, in Fredericton, New Brunswick.

Patricia was the cherished wife of Don Greer, with whom she shared a deep and enduring partnership. She is survived by her husband Don, son Craig Greer, daughter Lauren Greer (Stephen Green), grandsons, Artie and Hal, sister Paula Neilson, sister-in-law Faye Neilson. Pat was predeceased by her mother Marjorie Neilson, father Paul Neilson and brother David Neilson.

Throughout her life Patricia was a constant source of love, strength and encouragement for her family. She was a masterful organizer and had a remarkable ability to bring people together, whether through family gatherings or simply through the generosity of her heart.

During her long career she worked for TD Canada Trust in Toronto, Calgary and finally in Penticton. She loved meeting clients and helping with financial advice. She was good at it.

Patricia also found joy in travelling and could often be found on her iPad planning and booking trips with her husband, other family members or friends. She loved adventure and delighted in experiencing other cultures and sunny destinations – fine dining, too.

Although she will be deeply missed, Pat’s legacy of love, laughter, and optimism will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Finally, this obit would not be complete if we didn’t mention her dog, Obie, who’s already missing their morning walks together.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Patricia’s memory. Interment will take place in Watford, Ontario, in the new year. The family is planning a gathering in Calgary during the Summer of 2025 to honour and celebrate Pat’s life.
