Tribute
On Friday November 3, 2017, Mr. Pleun (Paul) Kootte of Oliver passed away peacefully at his home with family by his side at the age of 99 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Leentje (Lena) Kootte; son Tony Kootte and grandson Steven Kootte.
Paul will be fondly remembered by his loving family including son Jan (Diane) Kootte; daughter Clara Kootte; grandchildren Julie (Scott) Adams, Brenda (Glenn) Seaback and Randy Kootte; six great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Paul was a street car driver (chauffeur de tram) in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and an orchardist in Kelowna, BC.
He was really in his heart when cultivating fruit and later landscaping the lots of his new homes which were creations of beauty.
With retirement, after taking care of our dear sweet mother in Comox for 11 years, dad returned to the Okanagan, became a regular swimmer at the Penticton pool, and who hasn’t seen this Tour de Oliver cyclist on the roads. Perhaps the secret of life is to enjoy the ride. Bravo Dad at 99!.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday November 22, 2017 at the Deer Park Clubhouse.
