Pauline Zeleschuk

November 19, 1923 - September 7, 2015

Tribute

Born in Grayson, Sask, one of six children and survived by younger sister Odelia. Raised in a rural prairie farming community the family moved to Murrayville (Langley) and later Vancouver.

Recently predeceased by beloved husband John.

A very loving Mother to Marlene (David), Richard (Donna), Ron (Lynn), Ken (Susan) and cherished Grandma of Michelle, Melissa, Diana, Brian, Jeffrey, Megan, Amanda and Lauren and adored Great-Grandma of Emily, Jack, Audrey, Aidan, Jackson, Morgan and Eden.

Pauline travelled with a close friend throughout Europe as a young woman and continued her adventures later with John to Hawaii, an Alaska cruise, Arizona and camping across Canada.

In 1943 while living in Vancouver Pauline began work with Boyles Bros as an industrial diamond setter, then married and raised her family before continuing her career at Wesdrill (diamond drilling) Equipment. An avid 5-pin bowler with her workmates, she forged lifelong friendships.

In 1981 Pauline and John fulfilled a dream by retiring to Osoyoos where they enriched and expanded their community ties. These happy days for Pauline were filled with volunteer work at Sage Brush Lodge, knitting and crocheting, reading, crafts, playing the piano and especially swimming. Regular (large) family gatherings around Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter were a regular valued tradition that strengthened family ties.

Making many lifelong friends as a faithful and involved community member of the Osoyoos Baptist Church, her strong Christian heritage, solid convictions and genuine concern for others were evident in her life.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. G.Tarr and the many caregivers who assisted Pauline in her final months.

Her warm spirit, kindness and laughter will be missed by many friends, neighbours and family.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Pauline’s name to the Osoyoos Baptist Church will be greatly appreciated.

A joint service for Pauline and John will be held on Saturday, Sept 19th 2015 at 12 noon at the Osoyoos Baptist Church, 6210 – 97th Street.
