Tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Pearl Liebel on June 4th, 2023.
Pearl was born on January 22, 1927 on the farm in Bruno, Saskatchewan and moved to Osoyoos with her family in 1946. She was predeceased by her husband, John Liebel who she met and married two years after moving to Osoyoos.
Pearl is survived by her sons, Donald (Denny) and David (Lynn) her grandchildren, Amber and Miranda (Dave) and great-grandchildren Morgan, Aaron, Owen and Cyrus. She also leaves behind many more loving family members.
Pearl was well-known around Osoyoos; she worked for a number of retail businesses in town and was an active member of her church and the Catholic Women’s League. Pearl spent a number of years traveling with John for work, and spent time living in Nicholson Creek, Christian Valley and other areas in the Kettle Valley. Pearl was known for being positive, kind and loving to everyone she met – she will be missed.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and support staff at the South Okanagan General Hospital for their support.

Pearl was a great friend to my mother at Sunshine Ridge, and I am very sad to read of her death. I am sure that everyone who met her, liked her — she was just such a nice person. My condolences to her family.

My Auntie Pearl was one of the most special people, and the world has been a better place for her being in it. Auntie always told me she’d live to 100 and I would have lots more time to visit with her so I’m sad I didn’t just have one more chance. My heart is heavy for Donny and David and their families, and my thoughts are with you as you process this loss. I’m sorry that I won’t have a chance to be there to rejoice in her well-lived life on Friday, but I will be there in spirit. and will always think fondly of Auntie Pearl for the remainder of my days.

Donny, David and families,
How blessed were we to have an Auntie Pearl? From medicine mixed in a teaspoon of jam, to an endless supply of hugs, how lucky has my life been to have been loved by her. She would be the first to say she lived a full life, but for us, it will never be long enough. I am so sorry for your loss, but know that Auntie Pearl and Uncle Johnnie are rejoicing together.
Love Leian

A life well lived. Over the 50 years that we knew Pearl, she was a very caring and friendly soul. We got to know her through curling and whenever we saw her in town. We were always chatting and enjoying her. We got the chance to see her in her later years whenever she was out and about at sunshine ridge and we marveled that she never changed in all the years we knew her. God give you strength. Jerry and Sandra Albo.

Pearl had a wonderful affect on me. Bright, happy, sensitive and brave. I will miss not seeing her in the neighbourhood and at church.
