Peter Fatels

Tribute
On Saturday March 24, 2018, Mr. Peter Gerardus Fatels of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital surrounded by family after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 86 years.
Peter will be fondly remembered by his loving wife of 59 years, Margaret; sons Peter, Michael (Josie) and Gerry (Jamie); daughter Colleen (Mike); grandchildren Cole, Tanner, Lia, Terissa, Jorden, Ryan and Lily; brother Gerry (Rose) and family and sister Gerarda and family in Holland.
Peter was self-employed, owning and operating a construction company in Osoyoos called Peter’s Custom Craft for over 40 years.
He was given a recognition award for Cottonwood Park construction and service in maintaining the park.
Peter enjoyed woodworking, soccer and hockey.
Many thanks to Dr. Calder and the nurses who cared for Peter during his illness. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Thank you to all for the prayers and kindness shown to Peter. He was a hard worker, a great father and Opa.

Our thoughts are with you and your family Margaret. Pete was a wonderful man , we enjoyed a lot of good times together . With all the construction jobs we did together we had total trust in each other all done on a handshake. We had a lot of laughs together he was a great man and a true friend. Both Rick and myself have very fond memories of Pete and we were saddened to hear of his passing.
I look to the window every time I come to work in the park and I’m pretty sure he is keeping watch over it. The town is forever in your debt for all the work you have both put in over the years and I thank you for that. Keep your chin up Margaret and if you ever need help with anything you can call on us.
