Tribute
Our beloved Husband, Dad / Pops, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle and Friend passed away peacefully on August 17, 2015 after a short courageous battle with cancer. Peter Martens leaves behind his loving wife Ruth, his two daughters Barb (Lary), Brenda (Bonny), his three sons Paul (Lyndsay), Terry (Cathy), and Brian (Janice), and his beautiful grandchildren Nathan, Nicole, Amanda (Nik), Justin (Eleisha), Jessica, Aidan, Ashley, Matthew, and Kianna, great-grandson Jonas, two sisters Anne and Helen, brother Cornie (Irene), and sister-in-law Betty.
Peter also loved and was close to Ruth's children Richard, Anne Marie, Ron, Wayne, Morris, Gary, and their families. Special mention to family friend Nadine.
Peter came to Oliver after retiring from GWIL Construction and Crane Service in Edmonton, Alberta. He enjoyed many years of golfing and bowling, volunteering with the Kiwanis, and singing, dancing, and card playing at the Oliver Senior Center. Peter enjoyed making different crafts that he graciously gave to his family and friends. Peter spent many joyous hours watching his beloved sports, and always remained an Oiler and Eskimo fan.
Peter will be sadly missed by all who loved and knew him. Rest in peace. We love you.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday August 22 at 11:00 a.m. at the Oliver United Church, with the Rev. Ray Turner officiating.
