Ralph Mcnutt

December 1, 1940 - June 7, 2016

Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ralph McNutt on June 7, 2016 in Oliver, BC. Ralph passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his wife Carol in 1997 and is survived by his children Todd (Joanne), Susan (Brent MacNeil) and Nancy (Shannon Scott); grandchildren Gavin, Kerri, Owen and Tanner; his brothers Ken (Carole), Brian (Rose) and Mel.

Ralph was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba and moved to Calgary in 1952. He joined the Calgary Police Service in 1962, and retired after 25 years in the rank of Staff Sergeant. In 1987, he and Carol moved to Montreal, then in 1990 to Toronto where Ralph was employed by Sears Canada as a Senior Investigator. In 1996, Ralph and Carol returned to Calgary where he remained until retiring to Osoyoos in 2009. Ralph was very active in the Al-Azhar Shriners and the Royal Order of Jesters but his true passions were golfing, cooking, antiquing and a good steak on the barbeque surrounded by friends and family with a fine cigar.

Ralph’s family is thankful to his loving network of friends and family in Osoyoos, BC for their tremendous support and love during his illness, as well as his long time friends from the CPS Veterans Association. They would also like to thank the staff at the South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver for their care, especially Dr. DeVries and his palliative nurses Lisa and Ashley.

Ralph was an extremely proud man and did not want a formal service. Plans to celebrate his life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.

Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com
