Richard (Rick) Sylvester

Tribute
Richard Allan Sylvester (1947-2021), passed away on Saturday, May 29th after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Rick was surrounded by his wife, Linda and his sons, Jamie and Aaron, and got to leave this world on a sunny, beautiful day in the Okanagan, just as he had planned.
Rick was a Navy veteran, a third class power engineer, a pilot, an adrenaline junkie, meticulous and detailed in all he did. He led a full life.
Rick grew up in Edson, son of Richard & MaryLou Sylvester, brother to Patricia and Lynne. After the Navy, Rick returned to Edson to marry the love of his life and start his beautiful family. Rick & Linda raised their family in Edson until they eventually moved to Osoyoos, British Columbia. Rick was a devoted husband to Linda over the past 52 years, a loving father to Jamie (& Pesei) of Katy, Texas, Aaron (& Amy) of Okotoks, Alberta and the best Papa ever to his 6 grandkids (Clark-11, Jackson-5, Charlotte-4) and (Austin-8, Nash-6, and Emelia-14 days), respectively.
Rick loved flying his plane and we take solace in knowing he will always be looking down on friends and family. Rick will be missed by all those who knew him.
