Tribute
Mr. Robert Irvine Remple of Oliver BC passed away on June 26, 2018 after a short illness at the age of 76 years. He was predeceased by his parents Cornelius and Mary Rempel, and by his long-time friend Gloria Summersides.
He will be fondly remembered by his sisters Lois Walters, Doreen Henry, and Jeanette Lock; his nephews Curt Walters, Mike Henry, Justin Henry, and Jeff Lock; his nieces Lori Hockin and Tamara Lock; and their respective children, all who loved their Uncle Bob.
Bob was a refrigeration mechanic since 1965. He spent many years working for Jones Food Store Equipment until his retirement in 1991. After relocating to his ranch in Summerland, he purchased Gallagher Lake Lodge with Gloria in 1999.
Bob was well-travelled, exploring Australia, Europe and South America. Closer to home, that adventurous spirit led him to receive his pilot’s license, and join the Pacific Ski Club and the Oliver Car Club. He was also a member of the Legion and the Elks. He loved tinkering in his shop, inventing gadgets. Friends will remember him for his passion for a heated debate, whether about the latest conspiracy theories or screwing the government.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday July 14 at 12:00 p.m. at the Oliver Legion Hall.

To Bob’s family and friends, my deepest condolences. Bob was one of the first people I met after moving to Oliver in 2004. He was such a lovely gentle man with an awesome sense of humor. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. He will be missed.

I worked with Bob at Jones Food Store Equipment as the secretary/receptionist. I was shocked and very saddened to hear about his passing. Bob knew how to live life, and he always managed to brighten up my days with his stories and antics. To family, Im so sorry for your loss. I know he’ll be missed big time.
