Ronald Terry

November 29, 1947 - August 11, 2009

Tribute

Ron was born November 29, 1947 in Hardisty, Alberta. He was predeceased by his father John Terry, his mother Adella Terry, a sister Inez Cotter and brother Dan Terry. He is survived by two brothers, Eldon Terry and Bob (Val) Terry, a brother in law Jay Cotter and sister in law MaryJane Terry as well as a host of friends.

In his earlier years growing up around Hardisty. Ron enjoyed swimming (mostly under the water), kayaking, biking, skating, playing cowboys and indians, western music, western movies and helping his Dad and Mom around the house and yard. In 1966 he moved to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan where Ron went to the John Dolan School. It was about this time that he took up the hobby of cutting paper and also became a pretty good pool player. Kayaking was done at Pike Lake where because of the tall reeds he had to continually rescue his lost younger brother (he had an uncanny sense of direction). When his Dad retired from the railway in the early 70”s he moved to Keremeos, B.C. where he also took up lawn bowling. When his parents could no longer look after their place in Keremeos they moved to Penticton and Ron lived with his brother Eldon and his wife Norma for a few years. Ron then lived in various locations around Penticton and worked in a paper recycle facility before retiring and moving to Beaver Lodge and for the last several years lived with Wayne and Jan Kreut.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday August 20th at the chapel of Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Service, 34505 – 89th Street, Oliver, BC.
