Tribute
On Wednesday March 31, 2010, Mrs. Maria “Rosa” Mellace of Osoyoos passed away at Mariposa Gardens after a long illness at the age of 90 years.
She was predeceased by her parents Maria Stagliano and Giuseppe Ferraro; her sisters Carmela Garcea and Maria Teresa Vono and her brother Domenico Ferraro.
Rosa will be fondly remembered by her loving family including husband Ted Mellace; her children Teresa Mellace, Maria (Francesco) Darini, Tony (Wendy) Mellace, Josephine Mellace and Cosimo Mellace; grandchildren Maurizio (Susy) Darini, Adele DArini, Spencer Anthony Mellace and Jordan-Rae Mellace; great-grandchildren Emma and Marilena Darini as well as nieces Helen, Anna May and Jacqueline and nephew Carmen Jr. of Bridgeport, PA.
Rosa loved to travel to Europe and the United States to visit family. She also loved cooking, reading and gardening. Over the years, Rosa was very devoted to the Roman Catholic Church. She was a member of Daughters of Mary in Italy and sang in the choir in her home town in Italy.
Rosa loved everybody and learned to communicate with her smile in her last days.
Prayers will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday April 7, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rex Velmonte at 11:00 A.M. Thursday April 8, 2010 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery will follow the mass. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Alzheimer Society of BC, 104 – 35 Westminster Avenue E., Penticton, BC V2A 1H7.

I miss her presence but I know she is in a better place and with the loved ones that went before her. You were very lucky to have such a loving Mother and I know she was lucky to have a wonderful family that loved her so much too.
