Tribute
Shelley Beatrice Penner passed away unexpectedly on August 13, 2017 at the age of 65. She is survived by her loving partner, Mike Truchan; her mother, Betty Williams, siblings, Leslie McMillan, Bill Gerrie (Edna), Evelyn VanTassel (Charlie), and Bonnie Emmerson (Gary), as well as her precious dog Eco.
Shelley was predeceased by her husband Peter Penner; her father, Bill MacDonald and two siblings, Jeanette Teague and John MacDonald. Shelly was also survived by her beloved 10 nieces and nephews and by Peter Penner’s children, Garry Penner (Noreen), Jim Penner (Linda), Lorna Christenson (Tom), Dale Penner (Ruth), Brenda Jackson (Doug), as well as 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Shelley will forever be remembered for the extraordinary care she gave to her homecare clients and the friendships made at Interior Health.
Shelley and Mike enjoyed many wonderful trips throughout the world as well as camping closer to home over the last several years.
A celebration of life will be held at 1:30 p.m. September 30, 2017 at the Osoyoos Legion Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the BC SPCA South Okanagan would be welcomed and appreciated.

I was shocked to hear of Shelley’s passing. She was one of my Mum’s care aids. Shelley was here during an upsetting incident and stayed with us until the Paramedics arrived. She later called back to see if we were all right and asked if I wanted her to come back. I always felt that was above and beyond, but the offer was much appreciated. I’m sorry I couldn’t attend Shelley’s service, but I was there in spirit.
