Tribute

It is with profound sadness that we announce that mom, Shirley Ann Halford, passed away just a week shy of her 86^th birthday at Sunnybank Centre in Oliver, B.C. on October 25, 2022.

She is predeceased by her loving husband John Edward Halford (Ted) and brother Charles Donald Graves (Bud).

Shirley is survived by her brother Richard Wellington Graves (Dick) and her sister Beverly Jane Champion; her daughters Linda Halford and Susan Iverson (son-in-law Bruce Iverson), son John Halford (daughter-in-law Nancy Halford) and grandchildren Jon, Sofie, Candice, Taylor, Darcy and Dylan along with many nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.

Ted and Shirley began their time together in North Vancouver and moved to Prince Rupert for Ted’s work and settled again in North Vancouver to raise their family.  They spent a great deal of time in Birch Bay with extended family and retired to Oliver, B.C. in the 1990’s on an Orchard and enjoyed many years on the farm.  Shirley was a very giving unselfish matriarch to our family and spent a great deal of time making sure our family had wonderful family dinners and special gatherings together.  She worked tirelessly on the Orchard into her retirement.  Many friends and family would comment on how it was such a joy to come and visit Shirl as she was always very welcoming.  I will have the fondness of memories walking the dogs together on the farm and just enjoying her company.
