Tribute

Sidney Eric Hendry (known by all as “Sid”) born July 28, 1927 the son of the late Thomas and Clara Hendry of Mt. Lehman, BC, passed away after a lengthy illness on May 28, 2018.  He is survived by his wife Lydia (née Seib), his step-children Murray (Lynne), Douglas (Shanna), Kathy (Don), Glenna (Larry); and Shirley; his step-grandchildren, Lauren, John, Michael (Ally), Tyler, Jordon and Noah; his step-great grandchildren Delilah and Emberlynn, and numerous friends and extended family members across Canada and USA.

Born and raised in Saskatchewan and later residing in the Greater Vancouver area, Sid was a millwright for many years and a member of the International Woodworker’s Association. He had a passion for woodworking that continued on into his retirement. Sid built numerous projects and later on devoted his time to the art of intarsia. He meticulously created beautifully carved wildlife which he proudly displayed in his home and often which he gifted to friends and relatives to decorate their homes. Sid treasured the many friendships that he made during his years residing in the Country Pines community and also through attending the Oliver Alliance Church by which he was recently baptized.

A casual celebration of Sid’s life will be held in the Hendry home on June 9, 2018 between 12pm and 4pm located at #123 in the Country Pines Retirement Park for those wishing to come out and share their stories and fond memories of Sid. All are welcome to attend.
