On Sunday, June 28, 2026, Stephanie Erin Jones of Okanagan Falls passed away after a motorcycle accident in Oliver.

She was born and raised in Fort St John, BC and is survived by parents, Melton and Debbie Jones.

Stephanie is also survived by her three eldest children; her son Michael, her daughter Angela, Angela’s partner James and their son Jackson, her youngest daughter Abbigale and their father Daniel Nickerson; Stephanie’s husband, Skylar Fortier and their son Jonathan.

Eldest sister Christy Jones, her husband Brennan Curry and their four children Stephanie, Leo (Leo’s wife Regann and their son James), Dexter, and Anderson.

Older sister Jenifer Boswell, her husband Lyle, and their three children Calli, Lacey, and Ryker.

Her first grandson Jackson was born only two days before she passed. She was there for his birth and was incredibly proud to be a grandma.

Stephanie earned her Educational Assistant Certificate through Northwest Community College while living in Houston, BC and she was in the final stages of completing her Addictions and Community Health Professional diploma program.

Stephanie enjoyed life to the fullest and had an abundance of hobbies. She needed to be busy and as such she was active and involved in the lives of her children, family, and friends. She was an outdoor adventurist who enjoyed hiking, fishing, and camping as well as gardening and raising animals. She was a crafting expert and usually had several projects on the go. She was always crocheting a gift for a loved one or creating some kind of memento or decor to brighten someone’s home.

Throughout her lifetime she collected and rescued numerous unique and beloved pets. From puppies and hedgehogs, to chickens, Stephanie loved all the animals and to her they were family. As a child, Stephanie was precocious and had no trouble keeping up with her sisters and their friends. Her silliness and unique sense of style was one of kind. She was genuine and easy to get along with but never afraid to speak her mind.

Stephanie always had her own unique sense of style and was an avid collector of clothing and accessories. She loved to ride her motorcycle and always wore her safety gear.

Stephanie had a way of turning friends into family and was able to connect with people from all walks of life. She adored her children as well as her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was known as the fun one, she had a sharp wit and a great sense of humour. Her free spirit and laughter brought joy to every occasion. It’s not surprising that she had so many friends and loved ones that cared so deeply for her.

Although she struggled with addiction Stephanie never gave up trying to better herself and the world around her. No matter what she was going through she always managed to find a way to help another person in need. If you needed her she was there. Her plan was to become a counsellor and devote her life to helping people heal and overcome their adversity.

She did not believe in the institution of religion but was a very spiritual person. She believed in feminine power, the energy of earth and nature’s ability to heal. She was in tune with the spirit world and drew on that power when she needed strength.

A private, family only service, will be held at 11am, Saturday July 4, 2026. However, there will be a live stream available for those who wish to join.

A public celebration of Stephanie’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday July 4, 2026 at Lions Park, 6629 Main Street, Oliver, BC.
