Suzanne Macht
October 19, 1979 - February 18, 2026
Tribute
Suzanne Frances Macht of Oliver, passed away peacefully in Penticton Regional Hospital after a long illness. She was forty-six.
Suzanne was born in Williams Lake B.C., where she was Baptized and Confirmed Catholic. Like her older sisters, she was also an Altar server.
Suzanne was predeceased by her grandparents Paul and Monika Macht of North Battleford, Jim and Kathleen MacKay of Peachland, and uncles Dan and Ross MacKay.
Suzanne is lovingly remembered by her daughter Sophie Wolfenden Macht, parents Fred and Barb Macht, sisters Laura McElhinney (Lee), Darci Macht (Lincoln), uncles Wally and Albert Macht, and Vern MacKay, nieces and nephews Kayla McElhinney, Davonte Suchit, Paige Suchit, Keagan Good, Larissa Good, Joaquim Macht-Suchit, and Zeelyn Macht-Suchit.
Suzanne received her Bio Technician Diploma from BCIT which led to her working at Can Test Laboratory in Burnaby. Later, she moved to the Okanagan Valley where her education led to her working in the wine industry. Suzanne moved to New Zealand gaining international experience working for Oyster Bay winery. Upon her return to Canada and the Okanagan Valley, Suzanne worked for many years at Tinhorn Winery and at Maverick Winery where she gained many lifelong friends.
Suzanne loved to travel, enjoying journeys to Barbados, Samoa, Wales, Maui, Kauai, and Mexico.
She enjoyed playing hockey, skiing, mountain biking, and international bike racing. Suzanne was selected as a member of the Canadian team racing at the Wales Cup.
A Holy Funeral Mass will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church located at 6044 Spartan St., on Tuesday March 3rd., 2026. Prayers (Rosary) will commence at 10:30, followed by Holy Mass at 11:00. Immediately after Mass, an Urn Interment will follow at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery 5868 Fairview Place. A reception will be hosted by the Catholic Woman’s League in the Church’s lower hall.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the BC Children’s Hospital.
