Theresa (Terry) Marie Van Allen

Tribute
Theresa Marie “Terry” Van Allen passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital with family at her side at the age of 80 years.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Friday August 21st at 2:00 p.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Osoyoos with Fr. Neil Lustado as celebrant.
Graveside committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
Theresa was predeceased by her husband Robert in March of 2010 and her sister Tillie Grogan.
She will be lovingly remembered by her family including her sons Kenneth (Sandi) and Dennis (Bonnie); granddaughter Jennifer Van Allen, and step grandchildren Josh, Julie and Jessica Knerr and step great-grandson Sean Knerr; her brother Ray Bachman (Thelma); and sisters Irene (Tony Laranjo) and Leona Spooner.
Theresa had a long career as a care aid at South Okagangan General Hospital. She was a devoted member of St. Anne’s Church and enjoyed volunteering at Mariposa Gardens. Terry loved knitting, crocheting, sewing, crafts, gardening and casinos.

Relation: ushering with Theresa at church
Terry was one of the first people that we got to know attending St Anne’s Church and then when we became involved in ushering she was always willing to lend a helping hand as she occupied the pew ahead of us. She had a great smile and we looked forward to seeing her every Saturday night at mass. To Dennis and Jennifer, our sincere condolences and even though we cannot be there with you in body, we are saying a prayer for your mom/grandmother. It will be strange when we come back this fall and not have her there. Our thoughts are with you at this time, may your memories sustain you in the difficult times ahead. Auntie Terry was one of my favorite Aunts and most kind and generous person I know. She will be missed greatly and will forever hold a special place in my heart. I wish I could of seen her one more time and I didn’t live so far away. I will be thinking of her always. In Hopes that she is resting peacefully and my deepest condolences to family and friends.
