Tracy Thompson
March 23, 1967 - July 14, 2021
Tribute
With heavy hearts we mourn the passing of beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter, aunty, mimi and friend Tracy Thompson. After a private and hard-fought battle with cancer, she peacefully took her last breath in the early morning hours of July 14; leaving this world with the grace and peace afforded to her through a close relationship with the lord Jesus Christ.
Tracy was our cookie maker/muffin baker extraordinaire; Self-professed eternal child of the 80s, purveyor of all things sparkly and Okanagan beach girl through and through. When she wasn’t lounging poolside, she was visiting Thailand, Mexico and Australia or feeling free on the back of a motorcycle.
A bright light in every room, life of the party, and a beautifully kind and moral soul, Tracy will be missed dearly by everyone who was blessed to know her. Her laughter, smile, wit and heartfelt conversations were her hallmark. Her sense of fashion and hospitality were expected. However, above all family was the most important thing in her life. Predeceased by her father John Robert Pinske, Tracy is survived by her loving husband of nearly 33 years, Wade Thompson, son Tayler Thompson, daughter and son in-law Haley and Steve Swetlishoff and her first grandchild, Baker Swetlishoff as well as her mother Bernice Kurtz and 5 wonderful siblings.
A private family graveside urn interment will be held at the Okanagan Falls Cemetery. A celebration of life for Tracy will be held at 12:30 pm Saturday August 7, 2021 at the Thompson family home, 1417 Maple Street, Okanagan Falls
In lieu of flowers, donations gratefully accepted for Moog & Friends Hospice House, c/o Haley Swetlishoff at haleyswetlishoff@gmail.com or (250)488-0852.

I am so sad to hear of Tracy’s passing and my heart goes out to all of her family. She was such a bright light in many people’s lives and you couldn’t help but have fun around her. She will be missed so much and remembered by so many for a long, long time.

Several years ago, three of us gals were invited, along with others to be part of a Twitter group; Tracy from Canada, Cherie from Pennsylvania and me from Texas.
Tracy’s personality lit up the “room”, the Twitter room. When everyone was freaking out over COVID, she kept us all grounded with continuous belly laughing jokes about the toilet paper shortage :-)!
After the group disband, Tracy stayed friends with Cherie and me. We three became very close friends adn sisters in Christ. So when Tracy confided in us that she was battling cancer, but was standing firm in recieving her healing, we joined her in faith believing for healing! I prayed most days, but Cherie prayed EVERY DAY! We had others join us in prayer too, from Arizona to Pennsylvania!
She was covered in prayer. And we also prayed for her dear family.
The Lord answered her prayer in a different way than we all wanted, though. He gave her a new body, with Him.
We will see her again, and forever. That is so comforting!
I miss her, can’t talk to her on the phone. Her family can’t hug her and be with her. But…we all will be with her, just not right now….we still have lots to do.
Abundant Blessings, Deep Love and a Huge Hug to all of Tracy’s family and friends.

My heart is heavy with incredible sadness to hear this! 💔 Tracy was a spectacularly, beautiful person inside and out. I absolutely love and treasure the time we spent together and honestly have never laughed so hard and for so long in my whole life as when I was with Tracy. The time I spent with her changed the course of my life and I am so grateful for having known her. Sending love and my deepest condolences to Wade, Haley and Taylor . – rest in peace Tracy.❤️🌈

To Wade, Haley and Tayler,
l am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful wife and mother.
I was deeply saddened to hear of Tracy’s passing. She and I were close high school friends and I have so many great memories of our fun escapades together in her “mean, green, driving machine” (Tracy’s words).
Tracy touched so many lives with her great sense of humour, positive attitude, cheerful smile and laughter – she will be missed by everyone who was blessed by her friendship.
May you find peace and comfort in remembering such a remarkable and loving lady.

We were so very saddened to hear of Tracy’s passing, and wanted to convey our heartfelt condolences to her husband, family and precious grandson, that she loved so very much.
We met Tracy online several years ago, and became fast friends. There were 6 of us all scattered across Canada…BC, Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario. We all planned to meet one day, but the pandemic threw a wrench in our plans.
Despite the distance, we all stuck together through life’s challenges, ups and downs, and Tracy always had so much care and concern for everybody. But most of all, we had laughter. So many good times, it’s difficult to put into words how special she was to us, and how she touched all of our lives.
When we learned she had become sick, we prayed with her for healing. She was such a bright light, and ferociously fought her illness through faith and love. Tracy was a wonderful friend, and we know she has moved on to a better place filled with the love and light of God. He had bigger plans for her.
We will always remember her as our very dear special friend. Tracy had such a spark in her, she made everybodies lives better for her having been in it. We pray for the sadness her family must feel to lose such a shining light.
Till we all meet again Tracy, I know you are safe in Gods arms.

Death relieves our loved ones of their suffering, but it puts us in pain… what a conflict. We are sorry for your loss.
