Tribute

On Thursday August 4, 2011, Mr. Vernon Douglas Hills of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital surrounded by family at the age of 92 years.
Vernon will be fondly remembered by his loving family including beloved wife Lillian; son Doug; daughter Heather; four awesome grandchildren Ryan, Natalie, Caley-Ann and Trevor.
Over the years he was the business owner of M&H Grocery; a life-time member of the Lions Club; a volunteer firefighter and a member of the camera club. Vernon was a tireless volunteer for the CNIB. He enjoyed travelling, mostly across Canada and up to the Yukon but cameras and pictures were his passion.
A funeral service was officiated by Rev. Stephen Hershey at 2:00 P.M. Monday August 8th, 2011 at the Osoyoos United Church. A reception followed in the church reception hall. A graveside committal was held at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday August 9, 2011 at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery.
