Walter (Willy) Laktin

Tribute
On January 4, 2016, Walter (Willy) Laktin of Grand Forks passed away surrounded by his loving family at the Boundary District Hospital at the age of 61 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Alex and Betty Laktin of Grand Forks.
Willy will be forever remembered by his beloved family including wife Margaret of Grand Forks; sons Eric of Vancouver and Scott of Grand Forks; sisters Linda Laktin of Grand Forks and Marilyn Turner of Vancouver; brother Bob (Cindy) Laktin of Grand Forks as well as many uncles and aunts, nieces, nephews and first cousins.
Willy retired from the City of Grand Forks after working for twenty five years. He enjoyed camping throughout BC. Willy loved fishing, hunting and foraging for wild huckleberries, mushrooms and asparagus which he shared generously with friends and family.
A celebration of life will happen in early summer as per Willy’s wishes.

We were saddened to hear of Willy’s passing…we are going to miss seeing him out and about especially in the woods picking huckleberries. Such an avid outdoorsman. Willy was always a good friend even though we didn’t see each other a lot..he would just show up on occasion for a quick visit to see how we were doing and off he would go again.
Willy will be missed and to the family, Mugs, Erik and Scottie we are so very sorry for your loss and think about you every day.
