Wayne Huk

March 11, 1948 - April 21, 2018

Tribute

On Saturday, April 21, 2018, Mr. Wayne Joseph Huk of Edmonton, AB and Osoyoos, BC passed away suddenly at the age of 70 years.

He was predeceased by his mother Muriel Huk (nee Keely).

Wayne will be fondly remembered by his loving family including wife Jennifer Farnell of 25 years; father William J. Huk; sister Deborah Hubble; brother Stephen Huk; daughter Nicole Huk (Emmet Buchanan); son David Huk; step-daughter Christie Webber (Chris); step-son Geoff Farnell as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family.

Wayne was an “all or none” kind of man. He played hard and worked hard. He was very passionate about his work, clients and family and full of energy and enthusiasm for any endeavours he undertook.  Wayne was known for his quick wit, easy laughter and his ability to keep his audience entertained. He was loyal, reliable, honest and always followed through.

Wayne loved travel adventure and tasting different cuisines. He was an avid and talented woodworker. He loved music and enjoyed the challenge of playing the violin. He was always ready for a golf game or an outing on the lake to fish. He also built and flew his own 2 seater aircraft, a Zenith 750. Wayne was a member of the Osoyoos Golf Club and the Oliver Flying Club.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to their neighbours, the paramedics and the staff at South Okanagan General Hospital for the compassion and care shown to Wayne and the family.

Donations are gratefully accepted for the Heart & Stroke Foundation or the Cross Cancer Clinic in Edmonton, AB.

Wayne’s motto in life was “to live until I don’t.” And that he did!

A celebration of Wayne’s life will be announced at a later date.

Jennifer and family, we extend our sincere condolences. Wayne came to our home often to review our investment strategy and then he would stay for dinner. Jennifer & Family
Colette & I wish to send you our deepest condolences. As for all, it was shock.
In 1992 we needed financial advice and we were referred to Wayne. That referral was great for us and many other family members. We fondly remember your visit to our lakeside cottage west of Edmonton and our visit to your beautiful home in Osoyos and the deep fried pickerel meal in China town.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you through this difficult time.
Ed & Colette

Our beloved Wayne is suddenly no more. I saw him on Wednesday, and on Saturday he was gone. Everything said in the obituary is so true. My girls and I worked with him for over 20 years. Wayne, we will miss your altruism, your wit and your sage advice and guidance. RIP dear man.
