Tribute

Bill is pre deceased by his 2 brothers Ken and George. Survived by his wife Lee, his children, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

n the 90 years he graced this world, Bill managed to leave an impact that won’t soon be forgotten. He served his country, worked several jobs, owned his own businesses and acquired many skills. He was a skilled ‘Director’ organizing people and events and brought about lasting change for many. His compassion for the ‘sometimes forgotten ones’ had him making hundreds of hampers at Christmas, procuring items for the needy or raising money to assist a project.  He raised $1,000,000 for the Gateway House Society for autistic children. He offered whatever was in his pocket… quietly and often.

Although he had many impressive accomplishments, it is his true loving heart and gentle kindness that lingers on. Bill had a unique understanding of people and the world, and was always willing to share his time, skills, knowledge and perspective. He loved many things: work, people, parties, gardening, birds, decorating the house with Christmas lights, the neighbor ‘hood’ and sitting in front of the fire with a glass of wine after the days work was done.

We will miss you dearly and celebrate our memories of you with honor, laughter and gladness. 

The family sincerely thanks Dr. Calder for helping him navigate a healthy life, Daryn and John at Nunes-Pottinger for their excellent services and all the wonderful neighbors and friends for their kindness and care.

“Big Bill” Lagadyn was well loved and will be missed.

A graveside service was held at 2:00 P.M. Friday February 13, 2015 at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery Field of Honour.
