William Bill Henry

Tribute
On Saturday March 16, 2013, William Arthur “Bill” Henry of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at home at the age of 86 years.
He was predeceased by his parents Joe and Pauline; his brothers Bert and George; his sisters Helen and Lillian and his first wife Lois.
Bill will be fondly remembered by his loving wife Marie; his children Art (Sherry), John (Karrie); sister Eileen (Dave) Francis, brother Don (Marilyn) Henry; stepchildren Monica (Wayne) Radwanski, Darren (Tavia) Swanson; grandchildren Eliesha, Willie, Daniel (Anne Marie), Kaine, Drako, Mercedes, Porche and Lukas and step-grandchildren Christopher (Cecilia), Jessica and Jonathon.
Bill was a lifelong farmer and in his later years he and his neighbour Fred Hill farmed together.
He loved to travel and some of his many trips included visiting Australia, England, Mexico, across Canada on a farmers tour to the east coast, Las Vegas, Arizona and Hawaii.
Bill was always very involved in his community. He was a president of the Mair Cemetery Board. He also always gave a 3 ton truck load of wheat to the food grains bank after collecting it at the pool elevator in Fairlight, SK. Over the years Bill was involved with the Mair Club, the Saskatchewan Wheat Pool, a Credit Union Board Member, the Osoyoos Legion and loved curling. He won many curling trophies and had an eight ender. Bill also enjoyed woodworking, reading, playing crib, doing Sudoku puzzles and watching any and all sports.
He was deeply involved with the United Church as well. He served on a Pastoral care committee, a manse board and as a Presbytery rep.
A memorial service will be officiated by Rev. Stephen Hershey at 1:30 P.M. Saturday April 6, 2013 at the Osoyoos United Church. A reception in the church reception hall will follow.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Osoyoos United Church, Grandmothers for Africa or the Neonatal Unit at BC Children’s Hospital.

My condolences to Marie and the family. I knew Bill through the Tuesday Coffee Group that used to meet at the Elks Golden Villa. He was a kind, friendly gentleman with a great sense of humour. As I have retired, have not seen Bill since last Spring. Treasure each memory you all have of him – he will always be with you.
