William Stannard

Tribute
Bill passed away at Sunnybank Centre, Oliver, BC on Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 at the age of 89.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Mary Ann Stannard, wife Anna, Brother George and Sister Edna.
Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his Best Friend Mary Grey, Sisters Ruby, Mae, and Marjorie, Daughters Julene Lind (Gary), Mary Ann Robinson (Darrell), Grandchildren Tracey, Kim (Dave), Wanda (Rob), Jennifer (Rob), Chris (Trish), Great Grandchildren McKenzie, Logan, Jordan, Hayley, Emmelin and Aiden.
Bill was born in Calgary, Alberta and raised in Lethbridge. At an early age, Bill worked as a Cowboy on a cattle ranch and rode the Rodeo Circuit. Bill served in the Army in Britain and Northwest Europe. After leaving the Armed Services, Bill worked in Lethbridge as a Male Nurse, and then worked for many years in the Furniture Department of Eatons. Bill loved sports, fishing, bowling and golf and enjoyed several years as Owner of Rivermouth Boat Guiding Marina in Campbell River, prior to retiring to Lethbridge, Alberta and later, Oliver BC.
A special Thank-You to the Staff, Doctors and Nurses of Sunnybank Centre (Poppy Ward) for the care and support provided to Bill and his family.
A memorial graveside service will be held in Lethbridge at a later date.
If friends so desire, memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of British Columbia or the charity of their choice.
