William Wilker

Tribute
On Tuesday July 1, 2014, Mr. William (Bill) Nelson Wilker of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 89 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Edna in 2012.
Bill will be fondly remembered by his loving family including son Rick (Cindy); daughter Cathy (Laurent); grandchildren Paul (Kristine), Terri (Sean) and Simon; great-grandchildren James, Elizabeth and Katelin (children of Paul and Kristine) and great-grandchild William (son of Terri and Sean).
Bill was a proud veteran and served in WWII as a Leading Seaman in the Navy. After the War, Bill worked for Sherwin Williams Paint Co. until age 55. He also co-owned the Broiler Hatching Egg Farm from 1979 to the early 1990’s in Langley.
He was a very skilled woodworker and many fines pieces are still in the family.
Special thanks to all the staff at Mariposa Gardens but in particular Anita, Jasmine, Mercedes and Sandi who helped his passing go easier.

Relation: My mother's brother, my uncle.
It has been many years since I saw uncle Bill so my memories are from my childhood. I remember a kind, good humored, and straight forward uncle whom everyone seemed to like and respect. I never heard anyone criticize or complain about Bill. I certainly had nothing but respect and appreciation for him and for Edna. Non of us are here forever. Some live longer than others. In the end we need to have faith that we shall all meet again. Kathy and Rick, you can be proud of your parents. For sure they were proud of you.
