On Sunday June 5, 2016, Mr. Yde Vander Kooi of Osoyoos passed away peacefully with family by his side at Mariposa Gardens at the age of 94 years.
A service will be officiated by Pastor Ken Clarke at 1:30 pm Saturday June 11, 2016 at Valley Congregational Church. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall.
Visitation will be held between 3:00 – 4:00 pm Saturday June 11th at Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel, 5855 Hemlock Street, Oliver

I loved to sit and listen to the history of the Vander Kooi family from Holand to Canada. Ome Yde was a wealth of knowledge! He had a sense of humor to the end “Nurse, Nurse!” followed by a smirk and shining eyes. Will see you later Ome Yde in heaven! Love, Fran

Sorry to hear of the passing of your husband and father Mr. Vander Kooi. Just saw the obituary in the Maple Ridge Times Newspaper. Nice to see he lived such a long life. I have good memories of my visits to your home as a child. I myself lost my husband of 43 yrs 6 months ago I truly understand the heart break. Best to you all during this time.
