Yvette Borges
November 25, 1967 - September 16, 2025
Tribute
It is with the deepest of sadness, after a long fight with cancer, we regret to announce the death of our beloved Yvette Marie Borges. Daughter, Sister, Auntie, Cousin, Friend.
Yvette is predeceased by her Father Luis M. Borges. Survived by her mother Helena Borges, brother Roger Borges, sister in law Christine Borges. Nephew Evan Borges and Jennifer Borges, Niece Ceanna Borges and nephew Jacob Borges. As well as many Aunties, Uncles and cousins.
Yvette was born in Oliver B.C on November 25, 1967. Raised in Osoyoos on her family farm , She loved her family and close friends deeply. Loved meeting people with a deep curiosity of their life and loved ones.
Yvette was employed at Canada Post for 17 years. She took great pride in her job knowing everyone on her route by heart and made lifelong friendships with her beloved coworkers. In prior years she worked on the orchard, keeping it pristine and clean, helped her mother and aunties at family Fernandes fruit market.
Yvette was a people person. She would always go above and beyond for her family and friends. She loved to help others, and was self-less when it came to offering a helping hand when needed. She loved fashion, always having matching outfits and makeup with her signature hoop earrings. She was a creative person, who loved to get lost in other artists’ work and support them in ways she could. She loved to listen to all kinds of music, and always had her radio playing in the background.
She was proud to be a tough hard worker. Putting passion into every task. Always organizing, cleaning, taking care of her perfectly manicured yard and gardens and above all, recycling program! She loved to bake, and share her famous fruit pies with all her family and loved ones.
The world has lost a beautiful soul. One that will not be forgotten by the people she touched throughout her lifetime.
Thank you to all the staff and her medical team at the Penticton oncology department. Such amazingly kind and caring nurses and doctors, She truly cared about all of you and loved bringing fruit from her family farm in the summer months and Purdy’s chocolates in the winter months. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Oncology Unit at the Penticton Hospital.
A service will be held on Friday September 26 at 10:30AM at Saint Anne Catholic Church in Osoyoos B.C.
