Tribute
On Thursday, September 9, 2021, Mrs. Yvonne Ann Morley (nee Simmons) passed away at Sunnybank Centre after a long illness at the age of 88 years.
She was predeceased by her husband George James Morley; mother Ellen Mercy Simmons (nee Bullard) and father Alfred Simmons.
Yvonne will be fondly remembered by her son Darren Morley and family; daughter Roxanne (nee Morley) Anderson and her husband Phil Anderson; granddaughter Chelsea Anderson and great-grandchildren Sam and Charlie; granddaughter Kaylee Anderson and granddaughter Shvonne Peterson and great-grandchildren Braxton and Serenity; sister Doreen Bye as well as many extended family and friends.
She was born in London, England in 1933, was evacuated during the war and emigrated to Canada at the age of 21.
Yvonne trained as a couture tailor and owned a Maytag Appliance Store. She won a lifetime membership at Fabricland for volunteer work and was a top saleswoman with Sears for sewing machines and vacuums in Canada.
Over the years she sewed her own clothes, made fantastic costumes for fashion shows, sang with Sage Valley Voices, was part of the knitting club and produced a puppet show that travelled Alberta.

I met Yvonne as a member of Sage Valley Voices. She was gracious and enjoyed her time with us. I was invited to her home and saw all the dresses that she had designed and sewn. I was in a fashion show that she organized and wore one of her gowns. A very special moment to remember.
