Tribute
Jim passed away Wednesday morning after a 10 year battle with cancer. Left to cherish his memories is Gladys, his life partner of 63 years and his four sons & their families. Terry (Pat), Steve (Shirley), Tim (Samantha), Rod (Paulette). Grandchildren Tanya (Jaret), Tyler (Sarah), Jenna (Philip), Justin (Melissa), Jamie, Chase (Brooklynn), Sarah (Michael), Great Grandchildren Cole, Elisabeth, |Kaden, Lucas, Marcus his brother Ron (Shirley), dear family friend Sherri and many relatives & friends. Jim was predeceased by his parents George & Margaret, sisters-in-law Ilene & Frances, brothers-in-law Harry, George & Abel.
After 38 years of service Jim retired from Sasktel and then became the Executive Administrator for the Saskatchewan Elks Association in Saskatoon for 3 years. Through his many years with the Elks Jim served as Exalted Ruler, District Deputy & Provincial President. Jim & Gladys wintered in beautiful Osoyoos for 4 winters, finally making it their home in 1998. Here Jim enjoyed his summers playing golf and was very involved with the United Church, the Gyros, the Legion and the Oliver Hamm Radio Club. Throughout his life Jim developed many friendships and was always there to lend a hand when needed. He always enjoyed time with his family and appreciated all the visits from the grandkids and great grandkids.
In lieu of flowers please donate to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Memorial service will be held at the Osoyoos United Church, Friday January 20th, 2017 at 11:00 am.
