Alojz Louis Dekleva

Tribute
On Thursday October 14, 2010, Mr. Alojz “Louis” Dekleva of Oliver passed away after a long illness at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 77 years.
He was predeceased by his baby daughter in 1969.
Louis will be fondly remembered by his loving family including wife Josephine; sons Joey and Dennis; his brother Tony Dekleva; his sister Mimi Fatur as well as many extended family and friends.
Over the years Louis worked in the logging and mining fields but spent the vast majority of his working life as a entrepreneur vinter/farmer. This led to his love of the hobby of winemaking.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Willis, the staff at SOGH and especially to nurse Gina.
Donations are gratefully accepted to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 1589 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, BC V1Y 5Y7.
A funeral mass was held at 11:00 A.M. Monday October 18, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church. Urn interment and committal followed at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall followed the interment.

To Josephine and family
it was always a pleasure to drop in and talk about grape growing, winery contracts and just life. The old country hospitality was always wonderful. Josephine, you did all the work but Louis did much of the entertaining. Chirstopher still remembers visiting and being placed at the table and fed until he could not eat any more. Thanks for you friendship and we will all miss Louie and his growly voice. Hope you are able to deal with his loss and if there is anything we can do to help in any way please let us know.
