Tribute

On Tuesday May 17, 2011, Mr. Anton (Tony) Stukel of Osoyoos passed away peacefully at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 80 years.
He will be fondly remembered by his family including loving wife Maria Stukel; daughter Marjana (Steven) Gray and grandchildren Travis, Cayla and Shayleen, son Tony (Jennifer) Stukel and grandchildren Sierra, Tonisha, Danica and Sammy-Jo, son Jack (Vlasta) Stukel and grandchildren Colette and Jakob as well as his sister Mary (Tony) Zelko.
Tony worked as a railway worker for Canfor for four years on Vancouver Island after immigrating to Canada in 1970. Thereafter he worked for the Okanagan Grower’s Association in Oliver and Osoyoos until his retirement.
He enjoyed working on his fruit trees and in his vineyard. He was especially knowledgeable in the grafting of fruit trees.
Prayers will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday May 27, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Rex Velmonte at 10:30 A.M. Saturday May 28, 2011 at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Interment and committal will follow at the Osoyoos Lakeview Cemetery. A reception hosted by the CWL in the church lower hall will follow the interment.
