Arthur Bubar

February 1, 1931 - February 5, 2012

Tribute

On February 5, 2012, Mr. Arthur Leonard Bubar passed away at McKinney Place Extended Care after a long illness at the age of 81years.

Arthur is survived by his wife of Beryl of 42 years, sisters Ann and Betty, brothers George (Alberta) Bubar and Stanley (May) Bubar; sisters Ann Lobb and Betty Peters as well as many nieces and nephews but most of all his faithful companion Sport.
Arthur married Beryl Stanbury on June 21, 1969 in St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Rock Creek.
He was predeceased by his father and mother, Stanley and Winifred (nee Haynes) Bubar, sisters, Margaret (Bunty) Bridgeman.
Arthur was raised Anglican but did not attend church after he freed himself of his mother’s apron strings. He was a very kind man who did not belong to any organisations but was always ready and willing to help anyone at any time and for as long as was needed.

Arthur was born on February 1, 1931 in Greenwood, BC and was a true cowboy. He was a farmer on the home ranch and then managed the Jackson Ranch in Midway followed by a short stint with Noca Dairies and then the Thomas Ranches in OK Falls. After marring Beryl in 1969, they moved to Oliver, where Arthur delivered milk and farmed. Arthur had a stroke on February 19, 2011, and spent the last year in hospital.
Arthur loved hunting and fishing but his favourites were his horses and dogs. He had a love of all animals. Arthur also had a large garden (vegetables), most of which he gave away. In his younger years he also enjoyed snowmobiling and cross-country skiing.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Rock Creek Fair Society, PO Box 83, Rock Creek, BC V0H 1Y0.
A Memorial Service for Arthur will be held on Friday February 17, at 1:00 P. M. at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Rock Creek.
