Cameron Brown
March 19, 1958 - February 2, 2023
Tribute
On Thursday February 2nd, 2023, Mr. Cameron Louis Brown of Osoyoos passed away surrounded by his family and good friend at the age of 64.
He was predeceased by his father, Fred Brown; father-in-law, Don Miller, his grandparents, aunts and uncles.
Cameron will be fondly remembered by his loving family: daughter, Caprice Brown; wife Tracey Brown; mother, Marie Brown (nee Traxler); sisters, Ashleigh Whitworth and Dena Brown; mom-in-law Myrna Miller; brothers-in-law, Brad (Carol) Miller, Scott (Carla) Miller; niece and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins, close friends; Dan (Debi) Kelndorfer, Ed Nowasiad, Blaine Roberts, Scott Minshull and countless more. His dog Cody will be lost without his best friend.
With his big smile and rosy cheeks, Cam loved to laugh. He also loved making others laugh with his zany sense of humour. He had a generous, gentle nature and was always there to help anyone. Cameron loved being able to help others obtain their dreams and goals by sharing his vast amount of knowledge and experience, but being a dad to his daughter Caprice was his #1 love, hobby and interest.
He lived an adventurous life, both work and play. He loved to travel and had many amazing trips to exotic places including Australia, Costa Rica, Fiji, and Hawaii. His most recent trips took him all over Mexico; to the Dominican Republic; Cuba and into the U.S. He loved the outdoors, skiing, golfing, biking, and was up for pretty much anything.
Cam was a conscientious hard worker. His career began in Calgary as a Lineman working for Ace Construction, TransAlta, AltaLink, then in 2007, moved to Oliver, BC to work for FortisBC.
He assisted in the recovery of the Turks and Caicos after Hurricane Irma in 2017. As a first responder, he also assisted after many fires and floods swept through the Okanagan/Similkameen valley. His retirement from Fortis was just on the horizon.
Cameron was a IBEW 213 union member; a Nancy Green Racing/ Mt. Baldy Ski team volunteer; a dance dad at the Dance Studio in Oliver.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday February 24th, 2023 at the Oliver Community Centre.
In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted through the Canadian Cancer Society or The National Emphysema Foundation.
