Tribute

Carolyn Vera Madge
May 7, 1942 – October 22, 2022

Sadly, after a brief illness, Carolyn Vera Madge (Cranna) of Oliver, B.C. passed away at home on Saturday, October 22, 2022 with her loving children by her side.  She was born in Trail, BC on May 7, 1942.

Carolyn was predeceased by her parents, Bill and Hazel Cranna, brother Donald Cranna, and son-in-law Mark Misner.

She is survived by her son Shawn Madge; daughter Colleen Misner; granddaughter Madeline Misner; sister and brother-in-law Janet and Frank Whiteman, and several nieces and nephews.

Carolyn will be greatly missed by her tight-knit family and friends and the scores of people that knew her as a manager, co-worker, and mentor during her many years at Oliver Parks and Recreation.

Carolyn will be especially remembered for her positive outlook and creativity. She loved music and travel, and her hand made greeting cards were sent all over the world. Her perfect day was spending time with those she loved on her deck at Tucelnuit Lake. She impacted the lives of everyone she met.

In lieu of flowers, donations are gratefully accepted at the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation in her memory. Condolences and tributes may be directed to the family by visiting www.nunes-pottinger.com.

Collen and Family!
Please accept our heartfelt condolences. John and Anne Kiss

From: Marv McClelland
Relation: I worked in BC municipal Parks and Recreation community services for 40 years, visited Oliver annually (Gallagher Lake) and got to know Carolyn.

Carolyn was a highly regarded Administrator working in the Parks and Recreation profession in BC and a longtime member of the BC Recreation Facilities Association. She was a true champion of community service, a friend of mine and a mentor to many. She will be missed.

From: Nancy Boutin

Colleen: I am so very sorry for your loss. She will be dearly missed by many.

From: Janet Shaw
Relation: friend, colleague

Please accept my condolences on the sudden passing of your Mom. I had the pleasure and privilege of participating on the Recreation Commission during some of Carolyn’s time as manager of Parks and Recreation.
She was always hard working, devoted to the community, and enjoyed working with the public. Carolyn had a great sense of humour and was an excellent bridge player. She will be missed by all of us who knew her.

From: Charity Calder
Relation: Friend

Mrs M as I fondly called Carolyn was my mentor and friend. I am so grateful to have shared many memories and experiences with her. Oliver is a better place, especially the Community Park because of her love of Oliver and Parks & Rec. Condolences to her family. Love Charity
