Tribute

On December 18, 2010, Mr. Domingos Humberto Ferreira of Kaleden passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Penticton Regional Hospital at the age of 75 years.
He was predeceased by his mother Carma when he was 13 years old and his father Narsico; infant son Eusebio, his brother Joao and his sister-in-law Clotilde.
Domingos will be fondly remembered by his loving wife Angelina; his daughter Sara (Nuno); his sons Moises and Daniel; granddaughter Angelina as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family.
Domingos was born in Gralhos, Tras- os- Montes, Portugal on April 25, 1935
and immigrated to Canada in 1959.
He worked various jobs including the railroad and in mining before moving back to Portugal.
Domingos and Angelina were married in 1963.
In 1964, Domingos headed back to Canada and settled in Toronto.
In1968, he relocated to Oliver before settling in Kaleden in 1998.
Domingos had a passion for agriculture and greatly enjoyed running his fruit stands over the years. He loved spending time in his orchards. Domingos was a religious man, he was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus and spent time at bible college. He also coached soccer at a high level with youth and adult teams.
Prayers were recited at 7:00 P.M. Sunday December 26, 2010 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Fr. Pat Monette at 10:30 A.M. Monday December 27, 2010 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Penticton Lakeview Cemetery.
A reception in the church reception hall will be hosted by the CWL following the interment.
