Douglas Warren Edye
August 31, 1971 - January 13, 2024
Tribute
Born on August 31, 1971, to Joan and Cecil Edye, Warren was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta, until he was 44 years old. During that time, he graduated high school and was valedictorian in 1990. He then went to Columbia Bible College in Abbotsford than studied Political Science at both, Mount Royal College, and the University of Saskatchewan.
In his final years, Warren found a great community and camaraderie at Kevin No Frills. With his easygoing nature, dry wit, and penchant for light-hearted pranks, he became a beloved figure in the Oliver community. Warren had a knack for making connections, and his approachable demeanor left a lasting impact on those fortunate enough to know him.
Warren’s dedication to his work was admirable, and his willingness to lend a helping hand never went unnoticed. His legacy is one of laughter, kindness, and genuine connections.
He leaves behind his sister, Pam (Edye)Teigen and her husband, Chad along with his nephews, Zachary, Andrew, and niece, Abby. Along with a community that will miss him dearly. Preceding him in death were his parents, Joan, and Cecil Edye.
A celebration of Warren’s life will be held later in the Spring. Details will be shared when finalized. We deeply appreciate the stories and memories shared about Warren’s interactions with people. Your thoughts are a beautiful testament to the impact he had on our lives. Thank you for honoring Warren in this meaningful way.

I was very sorry to hear about Warren. I always enjoyed talking to Warren when I shopped at No Frills. The first time I talked to him, he noticed my British accent and displayed a very impressive knowledge of British political events. We always used to have very interesting conversations about political developments in the UK and Canada. Whenever I shopped at No Frills, I would seek him out for a chat.

Seems so strange to me, you not being at the store where you gave such dedication. You are missed beyond measure rest in peace my friend, and condolences to not only to your family, but the people whom you touched.
