Relation: Friends - We met on a bus trip in Ireland.
So saddened to hear of Ernie’s passing. We will remember and treasure the memories of Ireland, where we had the pleasure of meeting Ernie and Mari-Anne. Good times and adventures were had. Our thoughts are with you, Mari-Anne, and your family at this difficult time. Love Laura and Craig

Dear Marianne I recently found out through Rick Starret that Ernie has passed away. I am so sorry to hear that and have many fond memories of him, you and the others at the business. I had been there 10 years first one in 1989 when Kag was still under construction. Then in 1996 my wife, three children and my mom and dad came for a week. My last trip was in 2000 when I brought 10 principals, vice principals and a few close friends to Whittle. For a few of those years the both of you would spend a few days at Nag while I was there so Ernie and I could Lake Trout fish using my steel line and jigging rods. He thoroughly enjoyed catching lakers since few of the customers cared about that as they were focused on walleye and northern. One last story I want to share is the time after two days of fog the sky cleared we rushed onto the Otter and Ernie was our pilot. Shortly after getting off Cordingly Lake he reached into his small cooler which you probably packed for him and proceeded to eat his lunch which was fried chicken. As I sat beside him salivating he chomped away then slid open his window and threw out the bones. I tried to hold back my laughter as he looked at me wondering what was so funny. I said “ you are funny” as give gave me that silly grin. I hope this story puts a little smile 😃 on your face during these difficult times. I always liked your personality and fondly remember speaking to you in the Saulte in the winter months to firm up my upcoming reservation. You were a cornerstone of the business and I hope others told you that. Sincerely Wally Selihar.
