Ewald Hapke
January 21, 1922 - September 9, 2013
Tribute
Ewald passed away peacefully on Monday, September 9th at the age of 91. Predeceased by parents Augusta and Franz Hapke. Ewald leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years, Anne, and his sons Harold (Linda), Lawrence (Carol) and daughter Debra (Greg); four wonderful grand-daughters, Michelle (Claus), Tammy (Blake), Therese and Emma and three precious great grandsons, Ryder, Tyson & Leo. Ewald moved to Oliver in 1929 to his homestead property on road #3 which was initially a cantaloupe and ground crop farm and replanted over the years to an orchard property which is now a third generation farm. Ewald served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1942-46. He married the love of his life, Annie in 1949. His 91 years of life were based on his love of church and family and he especially enjoyed singing bass in the St. Paul Lutheran Church choir. He is fondly remembered for his cheerful laugh and loving smile. Funeral services to be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Oliver.
