Tribute
George “Blair” Cantwell, born August 9, 1944 on Bell Island, Newfoundland and now residing in Ft. McMurray, Alberta, passed away suddenly in Omak, Washington on Thursday March 30, 2017 at the age of 72 years.
He was predeceased by his parents George and Martha Cantwell.
Blair will be fondly remembered by his wife Mary Cantwell (nee Costello); son Justin (Krista) and granddaughter Emily; daughter Asia (Darrin) and grandsons Blair, Ryley and Logan; sisters Judy and nieces Paula and Andrea, Gail (Jack), Ellen (Greg) and nephews Vincent and Clarke; brother William “Bill” (Monica) and nieces Amber and Stephanie; mother-in-law Rita Costello; brothers-in-law Francis, Jim and Raymond as well as their spouse and children.
Blair’s interests included NASCAR, crib, model railroading, restoring his’69 Road Runner and reading.
As a young man, he was known as “Fox” to his friends back on Bell Island. If there was ever a friend, it was Blair. He was a man of his word, honour and respect.
You will be forever remembered and never forgotten by your family and friends.
Sleep well my love and drive that car around the NASCAR track at your leisure. I will love you always and forever.
