Tribute
On Friday January 9, 2015, Mrs. Hildegard Held of Oliver passed away at the South Okanagan General Hospital at the age of 88 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Lothar Horst Held.
Hilda will be fondly remembered by her loving family including son Guenther (Mary) Held; granddaughter Heide (Jay) Held; great-grandchildren Justice Pelly and Autumn Pelly; grandson Darren (Debora) Held; great-grandchildren Kayleigh Held and Trent Young; granddaughter Monica (Jason) Pelly; great-grandchildren Jaelum Pelly, Quest Pelly, Liberty Pelly and Wolfgang Pelly; daughter Brunhild (Bunnie) Standell (Waldermar); grandson Jason T. (Lindsay) Standell; great-grandchildren Ava Standell and Reid Standell; granddaughter Kelly M. Standell; granddaughter Cindy Pearson-Gosse; son Siegfried Held (Charlene) and grandson Brett (Kristen Lucas) Held.
Hilda spent some years working at the Haynes Packing House, worked in hotel management and was a homemaker. She enjoyed numerous trips back to Germany. Hilda was a member of the Osoyoos Baptist Church and was known for her beautiful hospitality.
A family time of remembrance was held at the Nunes-Pottinger Funeral Chapel. A memorial service will be held at the Osoyoos Baptist Church at a later date.
Donations are gratefully accepted for the Penticton Oncology Department.

I have fond childhood memories of this lovely, soft-spoken, and warm lady. Always gracious with a welcoming and wonderfully interesting home and farm along the highway, along with Oma and Opa Held. A well-lived life. Rest in peace.
