Laurie-Ann Dawson

October 10, 1941 - March 19, 2024

Tribute

Laurie-Ann Dawson passed away in her sleep on March 19, 2024 at Mariposa Gardens in Osoyoos at the age of 82. After struggling with worsening dementia and chronic pain the past couple of years, wish to thank the Mariposa staff for making her final moments comfortable.

Born in Penticton in 1941, Laurie-Ann lived most of her life in Osoyoos. After graduating from the Vermillion School of Agriculture in 1961, farming played a significant role, in addition to many other jobs, many of which were self-taught. Although, the greatest joy was working around horses, from breeding and racing thoroughbreds, to years later spending many days riding the hillsides around Blue Lake. Living the quote, “there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man”.

Utilizing the range of knowledge gained over the years, was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbours and share in the results from the home wine making kits.

Survived by two sons, Maury (Louise) and Kelli Dawson, and grandchildren Ryan and Krysta. At Laurie-Ann’s request, no formal service will be held.
