LeeAnn Lindsay

September 10, 1965 - December 3, 2010

Tribute

LeeAnn Joan Lindsay passed away peacefully in her husband’s arms after a long, extremely courageous battle with cancer. She lived her life to the fullest. She demonstrated to her children, on all occasions, the importance of sharing all of the world’s experiences. Her mission in life was to be ‘Mom.’

She is predeceased by her father, Ken, Grandpa Edward, Grandpa Eric and Grandma Lena, Auntie Ruth and Uncle Norman and Mickey.

She is survived by her husband Lloyd, daughter, Cassidy, son, Chad; daughter-in-law, Ainslie, mom, Joan, sister, Arlene (Dave), brothers, Stuart (Jerry) and Jeff (Chantal) and Grandma Alma, Lloyd’s family, father, Lloyd and mother, Nellie, sisters, Sandy (Rosie) and Joan (Malcolm) as well as many extended family and caring friends.

LeeAnn was an empathetic, caring, intuitive special education teacher whose understanding and compassion for students was exemplary. She was a supportive colleague to all who had the fortunate opportunity to work with her.

She loved to travel to many places. She especially loved her ‘happy place,’ Maui. She was a fierce competitor, particularly in a SCRABBLE game. She loved crafts, gardening, camping and reading. She enjoyed time with her friends and always opened her house to a ‘Happy Friday’ occasion.

She was a spiritual woman who had a strong but calm demeanor with a Lutheran upbringing.

She was a comfort to all of her many friends, who will never forget her thoughtfulness and insight.

LeeAnn loved flowers and would appreciate any donation to the Andy Moog Hospice House.
Memorial Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 P.M. Friday December 6, 2010 at Concordia Lutheran Church, Penticton, BC.

Dear Lloyd, Cassidy, Chad, and other family members,
This was one special girl who like an angel was capable of touching and changing lives. I feel so lucky to have worked with her and to have shared time. What I so loved about LeeAnn was her strength of character, persistence, and quality. Everything she did was to a high standard. LeeAnn has inspired me and I will miss her very much.

From: Laura J and crew
Relation: friend

It was such a pleasure to have known LeeAnn both as a colleague and a friend. She exuded an accepting manner towards all, calmly, yet firmly at the same time. It was a joy to watch her with Cassidy and to watch her light up when she spoke of her daughter, However, i can still hear her “Oh Lloyd” in a most admonishing tone, and then, wait for it, along would come that smile. Chad was so very lucky to have had LeeAnn in his life, not only as a mentor, but as a mom. Her spirit will surely carry on through the guidance and love she provided to both of her children .
Laura, Bob, Ryan, Krista and Woo are all so saddened by the loss of such a kind and beautiful woman. Know that our thoughts are with you in this hard time.

LLoyd and family……We are so sorry for the loss of your dear wife, friend and sweet Mom…..We never met your kids Lloyd, but I must say LeeAnn spoke of them fondly and often, with deep love that only a Mother with heart would do !!! :O)……I could hear the love in her voice when she would excuse herself, to use the phone, for a minute to make sure that your kids were OK !!!……
She saw the good in everyone and her encouragement and positive attitude was outstanding…..Our prayers are with you at this so very difficult time……

Dear Lloyd
From the day we learned at KVR of LeeAnn’s illness, it was clear how much you loved her and wanted to do everything you could to protect her from this vicious illness. LeeAnn truly embodied the qualities that are described in Galatians 5:22-23 …” the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. ” I hope that this, and the words of Rev. Morris, are of comfort to you and your family. I was also so touched by Cassidy’s bravery at the service today. You’ve been such an great dad to both Cassidy and Chad. They are lucky to have had you and LeeAnn as their parents. Keep the faith, Viv
