MARJORIE JOY GREVATT (Nee Thomas)
May 3, 1947 – January 14, 2011

Joy was born to missionary parents, Stuart and Marjorie Thomas, in Bangalore, India, on May 3, 1947. Her early education was at Hebron, a British boarding school in Coonoor, South India. The family returned to Canada in early 1960 where Joy completed her schooling and graduated from Port Coquitlam High School.
Joy’s greatest achievement was to complete her LPN and then move to Quesnel where she worked at G.R. Baker hospital. She was a wonderful and caring nurse and enjoyed the many friends she made with her co-workers.
The Canadian Legion branch in Quesnel was where Burke introduced Joy to many of his friends and after his death she continued to work with the people she considered family.
Joy is predeceased by her husband, Burke, and father, Stuart Thomas. She leaves her loving family to remember her: mother Marjorie Islay Thomas; siblings Avis Cooper (Lloyd); Bruce Thomas (Marian); Judi Thomas (Larry Hale); Jonathan Thomas (Arlene); children Leslie John Smith (Joan); Darryl Stephen Smith (Kim); Marjorie Lois Reynolds (Peter); Brian David Smith and grandchildren Marjorie Carol Reynolds, Katara Brooke Reynolds and Renalta Desseriah Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday February 26, 2011 at the Quesnel Legion Hall.
