Tribute
Swallow, Marie Thora: born in Kamloops on February 17, 1920 to Mabel and Ole Johnson, passed away peacefully on Sunday August 30, 2009 at McKinney Place ECU at the age of 89 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Ken in 2000; her parents and her brothers Jim and Bob.
Marie will be fondly remembered by her loving family including son James Kirk (Shirley); sisters Ann Bileski, and Mae Haw (Bob); sister-in-law Kathleen Farrell (Ron); dear companion Bill Fedoruk; step-son Barrie Swallow (June) from New Zealand; as well as many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
Marie moved to Oliver from Gibsons, BC in 1991. She was a devoted member who volunteered a great deal of her time with the Oliver United Church. Marie also volunteered with the Sunnybank Auxiliary and enjoyed lapidary work.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Thursday September 3rd at the Oliver United Church. An urn interment and committal will follow at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery where her urn will be laid to rest next to her husband Ken.
A reception will follow in the Oliver United Church lower hall.
