Tribute
Norman Hinsley Sr., loving father, grandfather and poppa, died peacefully at home February 21, 2010 at the age of 79 in Penticton, BC. He leaves behind wife, Dorothy, daughter Darlene and family {Donny, Chase, Chelsea and Chad}, son Norman Jr. and family (Damien, Christopher, and Sadie) and daughter Mandy and family {Dean, Michael and Lindsay}. He is being reunited with his pre-deceased granddaughter Christie, brother Ronnie, brother Albert, sister Audrey and parents William and Evelyn. The family is asking that a donation be made to the cancer society in lieu of flowers. The family would like to thank everybody for their support through these last difficult days. At Norm‘s request, there will be a simple cremation with an interment of ashes at a later date. Goodbye Norm, we love you and will miss you. Some of my earliest memories are of Mandy & I drawing happy faces on the toes that were visible through the holes in your socks. I always have the warmest memories of visiting your house in Dawson Creek, you always made me feel at home.
In my life, there will never be another ‘Butterball’ (I still can’t believe that I came up with that!) I will always remember your distinct voice and warm heart.

Hope your loss will dull in time, I feel the loss of Norman greatly, and will miss the warmth he brought to my thoughts of his being in this world.
Condolences to all the family and friends who miss him as much as both my husband Don and I do. We talked often of our time with Norman and Dorothy and missed them greatly when they moved.
