GIRARD, M. PHYLLIS – It is with great sadness the family announce the death of Phyllis Girard, mother of Richard (Linda) Girard of Oliver, who passed away surrounded by family on May 25th, 2011. Phyllis was born in Lansdowne, Ontario September 22, 1928 to the late John and Loretta (Rutherford) Bishop. Having lived and worked for most of her life in her favorite city of Toronto, Phyllis loved socializing with family and friends and spoiling her pets. Devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Besides her son, Phyllis will be forever loved and missed by sisters Bertha and Marguerite (Bill), brother John (Mary Ann) of Ontario, grandchildren Richard Jr. (Jade), Cameron (Tammy), Katrina and Gerry, and many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the staff at McKinney Place for their care and compassion; roommate, Joan Chapman, for her thoughtfulness and to her favorite niece, Debbie Kennedy, for always being there to make her laugh. A graveside service will take place at the Oliver Municipal Cemetery at 2:30 P.M. Friday June 3rd, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations in Phyllis’s memory may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
