Ramona (Mona) Hofman

Ramona (Mona) Hofman was born in Fort St. John, BC on March 10, 1960.
She graduated from high school in 1978 and moved to Oliver, July 1st that year. Mona worked for a short period as a travel agent. She visited Holland with
her grandmother and also travelled to Hawaii. Another great memory was of her cruise on the Panama Canal.
Mona then went on to work in Oliver at the Sunnybank Care Home. In 1997 she transferred to Penticton and worked at the Penticton General Hospital.
Shortly after, she sold her home in Oliver and in 2003 moved into her condo at Cherry Lane Towers in Penticton.
Mona is survived by her mother Rulie and brother Jack, both of Penticton. She leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews.
Mona was predeceased by her father Sam Hofman in 1999, her brother Eric in 2008 who was taken by an avalanche, brother Herald in 2016 and most
recently her brother John (Big John) in 2022.
The family would like to thank Mary Held for being a long time true friend of Mona’s, being supportive over the years, and being by her side during her last days.
In lieu of flowers, friends and family may make a donation to Oliver/Osoyoos Search and Rescue.

I wish to send my deepest sympathy on the loss of Ramona. Condolences to Rulie and family, Very recently I had a memory of Ramona. It was when she joined us for a swim and BBQ in our backyard. We spent so much time in the pool that we looked like prunes when we finally got out. She had brought dessert of Dilly bars that nobody had had for years and they were so good. I worked with Ramona at the Hospital for years but it wasn’t until that evening that we really talked and got to know one another. Deepest regards, Cathy Shawyer
